Research and work

Research focus

  • NMR spectroscopy and NMR-based metabolomics
  • characterization of metabolic pathways, metabolic fluxes, and biomarker profiles
  • development of quantitative NMR methods for glycoprotein analysis (GlycA/GlycB)
  • identification of diagnostic markers in clinical cohorts (e.g., cancer, IBD, NASH, Parkinson’s disease)
  • analysis of glycan-related signatures and metabolic patterns in human biofluids

Methods & approaches

  • 1D and 2D solution-state NMR spectroscopy
  • NMR-based metabolomics and metabolic-flux analysis
  • quantitative glycoprotein analysis using newly developed NMR methods
  • statistical modelling, lineshape fitting, and automated data processing (Matlab-based pipelines)
  • analysis of diverse sample types (serum, plasma, urine, stool)
  • close collaboration with clinical partners and translational research projects

Expertise

  • development and application of NMR methods for metabolomics and glycoprotein analysis
  • computational NMR: spectral processing, quantification, statistical evaluation
  • biomarker research in biomedical and clinical contexts
  • integration of NMR data into interdisciplinary research frameworks
