Viruses make us sick, but they can also be useful. How does their three-dimensional structure influence these processes? To answer this question, the viruses are, quite literally, made to fly. How does that work, and what does all of this have to do with the X-ray laser?
The simplicity of viruses and the enormous impact they can have on an organism, as well as the precision of mass spectrometry, have always fascinated Dr. Charlotte Uetrecht. In her lecture, she explains why these two aspects are a perfect match.
